Speights Ale House (Dunedin)

My review is from Monday 28th December 2020, in the early evening.

Being a public holiday there was a 15% surcharge on the bill, but in saying that, the prices here are pretty good compared to other pub style restaurants.

There were four of us in our dining party, and we enjoyed our meals – though one had some badly undercooked pieces of pumpkin, and mine had a lot of mash potato and only a small amount of ‘braised beef’- though the tastes and textures were pretty good. The meal sizes are all pretty generous.

Deserts were ok.  Though our hazelnut and chocolate cheesecake tasted more like Bavarian pie than cheesecake, but still a nice flavour and was a generous size piece!

The staff were all pretty friendly and helpful, though we did wait nearly five minutes for staff member to be free so we could pay for a Speights shirt we wanted to buy as we left.  All in all though a nice evening.
